Alcantarino: “Pretendo resgatar e registrar algo em perigo de desaparecer”/ “I intend to rescue and register something in danger of disappearing”

Design e arquitetura não são “privilégios” das grandes cidades. Carlos Alcantarino, um dos designers brasileiros mais criativos e famosos, tem certeza disso. Ele fala para os ouvintes da ALTHERSWANKE sobre o design e a arquitetura de lugares intocados no estado do Pará, na grande região da ilha de Marajó. Trata-se de um depoimento com o conhecimento de alguém que nasceu na região amazônica./ Design and architecture are not “privileges” of big cities. Carlos Alcantarino, one of the most creative and famous Brazilian designers, knows this for sure. He speaks to ALTHERSWANKE’s listeners about the design and architecture of untouched places in Para state, in the big region of of Marajo island. This is a testimony with the knowledge of someone who was born in the Amazon region.

Ele vem pesquisando o tema há um ano e meio e sonha publicar um livro chamado ‘Arquitetura e Design Caboclo na Amazônia’, com fotos que ele mesmo tirou. A propósito, caboclo significa mestiços, pessoas de ascendência europeia e indígena. Alcantarino já fez mais de 2.000 fotografias./ He has been researching the subject for a year and a half and dreams of publishing a book called ‘Caboclo Architecture and Design in the Amazon’, with photos that he himself has taken. By the way, caboclo means mestizos, people of European and Indian ancestry. Alcantarino has already taken more than 2,000 photographs.
