Moneo ganha Praemium Imperiale de Arquitetura/ Moneo wins Praemium Imperiale for architecture
Se o Prêmio Nobel não reconhece indivíduos que se destacaram em campos como pintura, escultura, arquitetura, música e teatro/ cinema, o Praemium Imperiale faz isso. Em 2017, o arquiteto espanhol Rafael Moneo ganhou o prêmio, juntamente com o dançarino letão Mikhail Baryshnikov, o músico senegalês Youssou N’Dour, a artista visual iraniana Shirin Neshat e o escultor ganês El Anatsui. Cada um recebeu uma medalha de ouro, uma carta de recomendação e aproximadamente R$ 443 mil. O prêmio é dado, anualmente, pela Japan Art Association./ If the Nobel Prize does not recognize individuals that have excelled in fields like painting, sculpture, architecture, music, and theater/ film, Praemium Imperiale award does it. Each one of them won a gold medal, a testimonial letter, and approximately $136,000. The prize is given annually by the Japan Art Association.

Chamado Apeiron – que significa “ilimitado” em grego –, o empreendimento é o o primeiro projeto dele na cidade, após mais de 50 anos de experiência em arquitetura.
