O maior evento internacional de design da Ásia vai expor mais de 400 marcas locais e internacionais de 30 países e regiões, a maioria delas lançando produtos. Parece ser tudo o que nós, amantes do design, precisamos ter após uma longa ausência de eventos./ If you are Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian or whatever, open your eyes wide and see what is going to be shown at Design Shanghai, beginning on June 3rd. Asia’s largest international design event will showcase more than 400 local and international brands from 30 countries and regions, most of them launching products. It seems to be all that we, design lovers, need to have after a long absence of events.
Com expansão de 25% neste ano e retornando ao Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center (foto abaixo), Design Shanghai acontecerá até 6 de junho. O objetivo é ter as filosofias de design oriental e ocidental trabalhando juntas em sinergia, com a mesma importância e o mesmo apelo./ Expanding by 25% this year and returning to the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center (picture below), Design Shanghai will take place until June 6th. The aim is having eastern and western design philosophies working together synergistically with the same importance and appeal.

O salão de design contemporâneo contará com estúdios de design líderes globais, tais como Roche Bobois, Herman Miller, Carl Hansen & Søn e Ligne Roset. A influente marca de alto padrão Roche Bobois mostrará sua ‘art de vivre’ francesa para Xangai, lançando uma nova coleção de móveis contemporâneos com duas peças-chave: Sacha Lakic’s Bubble Bed (foto abaixo) e Corail, uma mesa impressa em 3D./ The Contemporary design hall will feature leading global design studios such as Roche Bobois, Herman Miller, Carl Hansen & Søn, and Ligne Roset. Influential high-end brand Roche Bobois will show its French ‘art de vivre’ to Shanghai launching a new contemporary furniture collection with two key pieces: Sacha Lakic’s Bubble Bed (photo below) and Corail, a 3D printed table.

A marca alemã Occhio estreará o seu sistema de iluminação modular de alta tecnologia./ Hay (see below examples of the company’s pieces of furniture) will focus on sophisticated craftsmanship for modern living, while Verpan (contemporary lighting and furniture) will have re-imagined Verner Panton’s designs.On its turn, renowned Italian lighting brand Flos will present a variety of modern and architectural pieces. German brand Occhio will debut its hi-tech modular lighting system.
Versace Ceramics, Laufen, SieMatic, Villeroy & Boch, Kohler, Stosa, Porcelanosa e Axor serão algumas das marcas na seção Cozinhas & Banheiros. Versace lançará uma nova coleção de cerâmicas inspirada na mitologia grega (assista ao vídeo abaixo)./ Versace Ceramics, Laufen, SieMatic, Villeroy & Boch, Kohler, Stosa, Porcelanosa, and Axor will be some of the brands at the Kitchens & Bathrooms section. Versace will launch a new ceramics collection inspired by Greek mythology (watch the video below).

Como o design de escritório continua em evidência nesta pandemia, a seção Local de Trabalho será um must-see, mostrando projetos ergonomicamente focados by Humanscale e Kokuyo. A empresa Vitra apresentará as cadeiras Slow (foto acima) e a italiana Cassina lançará a coleção Cassina Pro (foto abaixo)./As office design continues in evidence in this pandemic, the Workplace section will be a must-see, showing ergonomically focussed projects by Humanscale and Kokuyo. Vitra will showcase Slow chairs (picture above) and Italy’s Cassina will launch Cassina Pro collection (pictute below).
Marcas mundiais como Iittala, Venini, Egizia, Denby (foto abaixo), Richard Ginori e Dr. Vranjes serão exibidas no salão Objetos & Acessórios. O designer britânico Denby, especializado em tableware, lançará uma nova coleção chamada Modus, inspirada no luxo mínimo, simples. Propriedade de uma família sueca, a empresa Usm apresentará móveis modernos e elegantes para casa e sistemas modulares de armazenamento./World class brands such as Iittala, Venini, Egizia, Denby (photo below), Richard Ginori, and Dr. Vranjes will be showcased in the Objects & Accessories Design Hall. British heritage tableware designer Denby will launch a new collection Modus inspired by minimal luxury. Swedish family-owned Usm will present elegant modern home furniture and modular storage systems.

O Design Strategy Lab na Yang Design anunciará a mais recente edição do The China Design Trends Report, uma previsão de tendência baseada em microestilos de vida no mercado chinês./ In collaboration with Ya Space (the first Memphis furniture exhibition space in China), the Collectible Design Hall will showcase extraordinary one-off pieces and limited edition works from international and Chinese designers represented by renowned galleries. The Design Strategy Lab at Yang Design will announce the latest edition of The China Design Trends Report, a trend forecast based on micro lifestyles in the Chinese market.
Além dos principais salões, o evento terá o Kohler Exquisite Design Shanghai Design Forum (imagem acima) com uma lista de líderes globais da indústria, visionários e inovadores. Durante quatro dias, eles discutirão o conceito de Design Regenerativo na China e fora dela como uma resposta urgente às necessidades sociais e ambientais. Palestrantes importantes incluirão Thomas Heatherwick, Sebastian Wrong, Aldo Cibic, Richard Hutten, Michael Pawlyn, Yinka Illori, Neville Mars e Diego Fuertes./ Besides the main halls, the event will have the annual Kohler Exquisite Design Shanghai Design Forum (picture above) with a roster of global industry leaders, visionaries, and innovators. Over four days, they will discuss the concept of Regenerative Design in China and beyond as an urgent response to social and environmental needs.
