A fórmula é bem simples: arte + ciência + pensamento = pinturas de Yvanna. A prestigiada e premiada artista brasileira vem pintando átomos, fractais, estrelas, planetas, o céu, o vazio e outras questões científicas e filosóficas por mais de 40 anos e, agora, seu trabalho está em exposição na Rua Visconde de Pirajá 111/ loja H, em Ipanema, até o dia 17 de março. O cosmos é a estrela nas suas pinturas./ The formula is simple: art + science + thought = Yvanna’s paintings. The prestigious and awarded Brazilian artist has been painting atoms, fractals, stars, planets, the sky, the void, and so many other scientific and philosophical issues for more than 40 years, and now her work is in exhibition on Rua Visconde de Piraja 111/ H store, in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro city, until March 17th. The cosmos is the star in her paintings.
Formada pela Escola de Belas Artes/ Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Yvanna (também conhecida como Wanda Gabrielli) já mostrou suas pinturas nos Estados Unidos, na Itália, Grécia e, obviamente, em muitas cidades no Brasil. Ela diz: “Desde o início da minha carreira, eu tenho amado estudar arte e ciência. O filósofo francês Edgard Morin disse: ‘É preciso estabelecer uma comunicação bem maior entre ciência e arte; é preciso acabar com esse desprezo mútuo. Existe uma dimensão artística na atividade científica’”./ Graduated from Escola de Belas Artes/ Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Yvanna (also known as Wanda Gabrielli) has already shown her paintings in the Unided States, Italy, Greece, and, obviously, in many cities in Brazil. She says: “Since the beginning of my career, I have loved to study art and science. French philosopher Edgard Morin has said, ‘It is necessary to establish a much greater communication between science and art; it is necessary to end this mutual contempt. There is an artistic dimension in the scientific activity’”.
Perguntada sobre a maior semelhança entre arte e ciência, ela responde: “Criar é descobrir o novo e isso se aplica tanto à arte quanto à ciência”./Asked about the greatest similarity between art and science, she answers: “To create is to discover the new and this applies to both art and science”.
Com um relacionamento tão forte com a ciência, ninguém deve se surpreender ao ouvir a artista falar sobre física quântica, telescópio Hubble, sonda Ulisses e coisas assim. “Amo ler trabalhos de grandes filósofos, cientistas e artistas, tais como Maquiavel, Descartes, Nietzsche, Edgard Morin, Pitágoras, Copérnico, Galileu Galilei, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Max Planck, Stephen Hawking, Leonardo da Vinci, Claude Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso etc.”, diz ela. /With such a strong relationship with science, nobody should be surprised hearing the artist speaking about quantum physics, Hubble telescope, Ulisses probe, and things like these. “I love to read the works of great philosophers, scientists, and artists, such as Machiavelli, Descartes, Nietzsche, Edgard Morin, Pythagoras, Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Max Planck, Stephen Hawking, Leonardo da Vinci, Claude Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso etc.”, she says.
Hoje, Yvanna está em sua terceira fase artística chamada “Harmonia do Caos”, que aborda a riqueza cultural de nossos dias. Antes, ela teve sua fase “Onírica” (sonhos e fantasias) e sua fase “Cósmica” (avanços tecnológicos e conquista do espaço). Segundo ela, as suas pinturas atraem a atenção de cientistas, mas também de leigos./ Nowadays, Yvanna is in her third artistic phase called “Harmony of Chaos”, which addresses the cultural richness of our days. Before, she had her “Oniric” (dreams and fantasies) and her “Cosmic” phases (technological advances and the conquest of space). According to her, her paintings attract the attention of scientists but also outsiders.
Suas pinturas geralmente medem 1,40m x 1,60m, 1,60m x 2m e 2m x3m. Elas costumam ter cores azuis e vermelhas, tons significativos em relação às estrelas. As estrelas mais frias aparecem em vermelho e as estrelas com temperaturas mais elevadas aparecem azuis ou brancas. Nesta exposição atual em Ipanema, Yvanna mostra duas pinturas (óleos sobre tela), de 1m x 1m, e duas réplicas em fotografia./ Her paintings usually measure 1.40m x 1.60m, 1.60m x 2m, and 2m x3m. They generally have blue and red colors, significant tones concerning the stars. The cooler stars appear red and the stars with the higher temperatures appear blue or white. In this current exhibition in Ipanema, Yvanna shows two paintings (oil on canvas) measuring 1m x 1m and two photo replicas.
“Esta exposição chamada ‘Olhares, cores e formas’ mostra os trabalhos de nove artistas. Há pinturas e fotos”, informa Yvanna./ “This collective exhibition called ‘Olhares, cores e formas’ shows the works of nine artists. There are paintings and photos”, informs Yvanna.
A exposição “Olhares, cores e formas” acontecerá até este sábado (17 de março). As pessoas podem visitá-la, diariamente, das 11h às 18h. / “Olhares, cores e formas” exhibition will take place until this Saturday (March 17th). People can visit it everyday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m..
