Casa de la Roca em forma de Y/ Y-shaped Casa de la Roca

Esta casa, de 300 metros quadrados, no México, tem “três braços”. Outras pessoas diriam que é uma residência em forma de Y. Criada por Eduardo Cadaval e Clara Solà-Morales (estúdio Cadaval & Solà-Morales), a Casa de la Roca aponta para três vistas diferentes e está situada em uma área arborizada perto de Valle de Bravo – uma cidade a oeste da Cidade do México.  / This 300-square-meter house in Mexico has “three arms”. Other people would say it is a Y-shaped house. Created by Eduardo Cadaval and Clara Solà-Morales (Cadaval & Solà-Morales studio), Casa de la Roca points towards three different views and is located in a wooded area next to Valle de Bravo – a town to the west of Mexico City.

“Este projeto trabalha com uma estratégia dupla: construir mirantes rumo a três pontos específicos distantes uns dos outros, ao mesmo tempo em que constrói uma área central protegida, mas aberta ao exterior, e que tem total exposição a diferentes ambientes delimitados pela própria arquitetura”, diz Cadaval, mestre em Arquitetura em Design Urbano pela Harvard University. / “This project works with a double strategy: to build lookouts towards three specific points far from each other, while building a central area protected, but open to the outside, and that has a total exposure to different environments that the own architecture delimits,” says Cadaval, who holds a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University.

O espaço central também divide a propriedade em duas áreas distintas. Uma ala é ocupada por dois quartos que se abrem para um terraço./ The central space also splits the property into two distinct areas. One wing is occupied by two bedrooms that open onto a terrace.

Do outro lado, os dois blocos restantes se juntam para formar uma sala de estar aberta, cozinha e sala de jantar, e um lounge adicional./ On the other side, the remaining two blocks join together to form an open-plan living, kitchen and dining room, and an additional lounge.

Outros três quartos estão situados no final desses volumes para aproveitar ao máximo a privacidade e as vistas./ Another three bedrooms are located at the far end of these volumes to make the most of the privacy and views.

Um lounge-área de refeições ocupa o meio da propriedade, onde os três “braços” se encontram. Ele leva para um deck com vista para um lago, na parte traseira./ A lounge/dining area occupies the middle of the property, where the three “arms” meet. It leads to a deck overlooking a lake at the rear.

O exterior de concreto é pintado de preto, para ajudar a disfarçar a construção no meio da floresta. “Respondendo ao desejo de se misturar com a paisagem, buscando um certo anonimato diante da vegetação e das vistas exuberantes”, diz Clara, que possui mestrado em Arquitetura pela Harvard University./The concrete exterior is painted black to help disguise it amongst the forest. “Responding to the desire to blend in with the landscape, seeking a certain anonymity in front of the vegetation and exuberant views,” says Clara, who holds a Master in Architecture from Harvard University.

Madeira upcycled forma a estrutura do telhado, que é coberto com arbustos. Enquanto isso, as vigas do teto são deixadas expostas no interior./ Upcycled wood also forms the roof structure, which is topped with shrubbery. Meanwhile, the ceiling beams are left exposed inside.

Janelas corrediças, do chão ao teto, são colocadas ao longo das paredes, para permitir a ventilação cruzada, auxiliando uma estratégia natural de aquecimento e resfriamento, enquanto aberturas de teto oferecem mais luz natural. A massa térmica do concreto também ajuda a regular a temperatura.    / Sliding floor-to-ceiling windows are placed along the walls in order to allow cross-ventilation, aiding a natural heating and cooling strategy, while roof openings offer more natural light. The thermal mass of the concrete also helps to regulate the temperature.
