Há, normalmente, uma estrutura de telhado feita de madeira, sobre a qual são colocadas telhas./ What an extra large roof! Look at this project and you will see the most distinctive form of Kerala architecture (India): the long, steep sloping roof built to protect the house’s walls against moisture and insects in the tropical climate and to withstand the monsoon. Normally, there is a roof frame made of wood, on which tiles are placed.
Localizado em Kerala e assinado por Shinoop Pm e sua esposa Revathy, este projeto é chamado Attic Lab (46m²), que também é o nome do escritório dos arquitetos. A construção é o seu studio caseiro e local de lazer, funcionando como um espaço para trabalhar, praticar música, pintar e relaxar. Foi um dos três indicados para ganhar o Ace Alpha Awards 2017/ Escritório com menos de 100m²./Located in Kerala and signed by Shinoop Pm and his wife Revathy, this project is called Attic Lab (46m²), which is also the name of the architects’ practice. The construction is their home studio and leisure place, functioning as a space to work, practice music, paint, and relax. It was one of the three nominees to gain the Ace Alpha Awards 2017/ Office below 100m².
O perfil triangular do design vem do sótão. O espaço inteiro é dividido em dois níveis: piso térreo e sótão./ The triangular profile of the design comes from the attic. The whole space is divided into two levels: ground floor and attic level.
A seleção de materiais (laterita reutilizada, aço reciclado, terracota, placa de cimento, MDF, madeira compensada, vidro e chapas de ferro galvanizado) e as técnicas de construção foram influenciadas pela carga estrutural, custo, tempo de instalação, manutenção e sustentabilidade desejados./The selection of materials (reused laterite, recycled steel, terracotta, cement board, MDF, plywood, glass, and galvanized iron sheets) and construction techniques were influenced by the desired structural load, cost, time of installation, maintenance, and sustainability.
Toda a construção levou cerca de dois meses. O studio está escondido entre vegetação verde e espessa./ The whole construction took around two months. The studio is hidden among green and thick vegetation.
